The Montreal Canadiens announced a partnership agreement with the Montreal Stars earlier today. They have pledged infrastructure and marketing assistance, bringing their considerable experience behind the Stars in the areas of marketing, advertising, and sponsorship.
President and CEO of the Montreal Canadiens, Geoff Molson, called the Stars an “example to many of the young girls who play hockey and who are starting to play hockey… there are more and more girls participating, and our goal is to help you get there.”
The Canadiens will support the Stars in expanding their already successful hockey and conditioning camps for female players, young and old.
CWHL Commisioner Brenda Andress called it a “phenomenal day for the the Canadian Women’s Hockey League.”
Our own Hannah Bevis wrote recently on the Clarkson Cup final and the wider hockey world finally taking notice of the CWHL. Read it here: Boston Blades Take Home Clarkson Cup; Hockey World Takes Notice
